Top 10: Unesco Sites in Italy

A real treasure to discover traveling, as a pilgrimage crossing almost all the Italian regions...

According to the latest update at the meeting of the 37th World Heritage Committee, the list is composed of a total of 981 sites in the 160 nations of the world. Italy, which with its cultural heritage, its cuisine and its landscapes, remains at the top of every traveler's bucket list, currently in first place in the World Heritage List of Humanity with 49 sites, it is the nation with the highest number. The wealth of Italy lies therefore in the beauty and uniqueness of 49 sites divided between work of art, natural beauty and thousands of years old traditions. A set of assets, natural and cultural fact, that are enclosed in an inseparable way in the Italian landscape. Being a UNESCO site does not just mean wonderful works of art or beautiful places being recognized as such by '"humanity", but the title conferred guarantees a level of protection and encourages the conservation of these unique and timeless treasures. We have selected an 18 stage tour of Italy, including islands. For the islands, we dedicate a little extra time to better understand the language and tradition heritage. The tour concludes with an explanation of why the Mediterranean diet has been included in the World Heritage.
